Healthy Kids Program

Let’s fight childhood obesity together!Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), childhood obesity rates have nearly tripled in children and adolescents over the past 30 years. Kids who are overweight are at higher risk for early high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, sleep apnea and depression. Yuma Regional Medical Center has developed the Healthy Kids Program and has partnered with Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation to sponsor this multi-week program to teach kids how developing healthy habits now can lead to healthier lifestyles.

Participants will learn how to make healthier food choices, become more physically active, understand their emotions, and plan and cook healthy meals. Best of all, they will learn how to make small changes that lead to big results and a lifetime of health and wellness!

Healthy Kids Program Dates

This program is currently offered 3 times per year. Classes are held once per week.
